Tiffiani Miller

Tiffiani Miller, PhD, is an accomplished and visionary leader with more than 15 years of experience in executive roles, spanning government, public health, and business sectors. Dr. Miller has a proven track record of driving transformational change and fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders.

In her current role as COO and Director of Public Health & Policy at Ascendant Global, Dr. Miller focuses on maximizing the positive impact of policies and programs on both health and economic outcomes. She spearheads the analysis of government policies to address identified challenges within communities and businesses. Notably, she led the community needs assessment for a Chase Bank-funded project, evaluating the economic and health impacts of various food initiatives in a disadvantaged Baton Rouge community.

Dr. Miller’s experience also extends to her role as Federal Affairs Advisor at Puerto Rico’s Disaster Recovery Agency, the Central Office of Recovery, Reconstruction, and Resilience (COR3). There, she played a pivotal role in aligning Puerto Rico’s COVID-19 emergency protective measures with state and federal public health mandates, resulting in significant FEMA reimbursements. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in ensuring the availability of federal funding for hurricane recovery efforts, exceeding $54 billion.

As Director of the Division of Food Safety at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Dr. Miller managed a large division with 300 staff and an annual budget of $20 million. Her expertise in public health food safety extended internationally, where she collaborated with governments in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Asia to enhance food safety laws and protect population health.

With a PhD in Comparative Medicine and Integrative Biology from Michigan State University, an MS in Environmental Health Science from the University of Georgia, and a BS in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina, Dr. Miller brings a diverse educational background to her leadership roles. Her dedication to public health, extensive experience, and strategic vision continue to drive positive change at the intersection of policy, health, and economic development.
